You packed it, rolled it through the airport, and wheeled it across the convention center floor. Then, like most exhibitors, you probably shoved your display case under a draped table or behind your backdrop, where it sat doing nothing for the next three days.

That’s a missed opportunity. With the right case, the same shell that protected your booth in transit becomes a branded podium at the front of your space, and the hollow inside becomes the storage closet every 10x10 booth is missing.

Here’s how it works, and which case or counter fits your setup.

From Shipping Case to Podium in Minutes

The idea is simple. Once your display is unpacked and standing, stand the empty hard case upright, set a countertop on it, and pull a custom-printed fabric wrap over the shell. What was a black plastic tub a minute ago is now a waist-high counter carrying your logo.

That gives you three things from one piece of gear:

  • Protection on the road. Hard shells with wheels and a handle get your display to the show in one piece.
  • A branded focal point. The fabric wrap adds another full-color graphic at eye level, right where attendees walk past.
  • Hidden storage. The inside of the case stays accessible from behind the podium for brochures, giveaways, and personal items.

One thing to keep in mind: these cases are built for transport, not as standalone freight crates. We recommend saving the original cardboard carton for shipping and using the case itself to carry and roll your display.

Two Hard Cases That Double as Podiums

HC-101 Hard Case / Podium

The HC-101 Hard Case / Podium is a heavy-duty wheeled case made to carry Tru-Fit tension fabric displays. The package includes the case and a countertop, and you can add a printed podium graphic as an upgrade.

Assembled, it stands 40" tall, 37" wide and 17.5" deep, a comfortable height for leaning on, writing notes, or setting down a laptop. At 24 lbs, it’s light enough to manage on your own.

Medium Transport Case / Podium

Running a Perfect-Pop display? The Medium Transport Case is sized for Table Top, 8' Straight, 8' Curved, 10' Straight and 10' Curved Perfect-Pop models. Add the optional pull-over fabric dye-sub wrap and it becomes a branded podium at your booth entrance.

It measures 22"w x 39"h x 17"d, weighs 31 lbs, and ships in 1 business day, or 3 with a graphic.

Both cases include downloadable graphic templates and are airline friendly. Plus, the HC-101 page has setup instructions, so you'll know exactly what you're working with before you order.

Making the Most of Your Podium’s Hidden Storage

Every booth collects stuff: backup brochures, lead cards, phone chargers, giveaways, water bottles, and the coats and bags of everyone working the show. When that pile ends up in view, it drags the whole booth down. To put it bluntly: clutter drives people away.

A podium that hides your clutter keeps the booth looking open and inviting. A few habits help:

  • Pack a show-day kit. Tape, scissors, zip ties, a spare extension cord, pens, and lint roller all live in the case for the whole show.
  • Stage your restock. Put tomorrow's literature and giveaways in the case the night before so you aren't digging through boxes during morning traffic.
  • Keep personal items out of sight. Bags and jackets tucked away make the booth look staffed and ready, not lived in.
  • Face the opening toward your team. Set the podium so staff can reach inside without stepping in front of visitors.
  • Pack by the hour. Put what you’ll grab most (business cards, pens, lead forms) on top, and backstock underneath.

Save on Shipping: Pack It Full and Check It at the Airport

Flying to the show? Your hard case can ride along as checked luggage, packed with your display and the rest of your show supplies. For a lot of small booths, that's simpler and more predictable than freight.

Shipping a booth isn't one bill. You pay to send it, you pay to send it home, and you pay drayage to move it from the dock to your space.  A wheeled hard case gives you another option: fill it, check it as oversized luggage, and roll it straight from baggage claim to your booth.

The trick is to use every inch of the case. Your display frame and graphics go in first, then fill the gaps with the rest of your show needs:

  • Booth extras. Table throw, podium graphic, banner stand graphics, and a spare extension cord.
  • Your show-day kit. Tape, zip ties, scissors, pens, and a lint roller.
  • Literature and business cards. Brochures and sell sheets are heavy to ship separately and easy to tuck around the frame.
  • Giveaways. Pens, stickers and other small swag fill odd corners.
  • Lighting and tech. Small lights, a tablet stand or a charging hub stay protected inside the hard shell.

Everything arrives when you do, safely in a case that you can see on the carousel, with no dock fees or freight pickup windows. Once you’re set up, that same case becomes your podium.

Before you fly, check your airline’s size and weight limits for checked bags. A packed booth case usually counts as oversized and may be overweight, and fees and limits vary by carrier and route. Weigh the case at home so you can move items to your carry-on if you’re close to a cutoff. Even with an oversized bag fee, flying with your booth often costs less than freight for a single-booth exhibitor, and it’s far less stressful.

Make It a Branded Touchpoint

Your podium usually sits at the front of the booth, right where conversations start. That makes the wrap valuable real estate. Use it for your logo, a hero product or book cover, a short tagline, or a QR code that leads to a sign-up page or special offer. Keep it simple and readable from the aisle.

Which Option Fits Your Booth?

If you’re using a Tru-Fit tension fabric display, start with the HC-101. If you’ve got a Perfect-Pop, the Medium Transport Case is the natural match.

Want a dedicated counter instead of a case? The Wave Tube Counter Package pairs with Timberline displays and comes with a maple counter top, a dye-sub fabric graphic, and its own soft carrying bag.
